What happened next?

What happened next? Possible hypotheses: He kept on flying never to touch the ground again, and can on clear nights still be seen orbiting earth through a telescope. He lands in a giant banana cake. He was caught by a very strong member of the crowd who set him gently to the floor and proceeded to buy him a beer. His fall gets cushioned by a horizontally challenged crowd member and (he at least) survives unscathed. He gets snatched by a giant eagle inches from the ground and carried away to nest high up a mountain. A giant rupture tears open the ground beneath him and he falls through a seemingly endless crevasse only to end up in the netherworld. This was the last thing he ever did, may he rest in peace. What you see is in fact an optical illusion produced by the fallibility of our empirical senses; how could he ever have touched the ground if the distance between him and the ground can technically be divided into an infinite sequential series? Given this consideration one could question the likelihood of this event ever happening in the first place, or any other event which relies on the assumption that our immediate conscious relation to reality can be divided into states, as this picture makes us falsely suppose.

What do you think happened?
