We’re excited to share the full line-up for Record Union’s fundraising festival We’re Indies Together. Out of 150 applications, the festival committee has selected 15 Record Union acts who will perform on June 27. We’re also thrilled to announce our amazing host for the night, Swedish independent artist Sarah von Reis. Keep reading to find out more about the performing artists. We can’t wait!

We’re Indies Together is a free one-day online fundraising festival. Our goal with the festival is to support independent artists who are facing lost income due to canceled gigs and shows as a result of COVID-19. Each act will receive a ground fee and we will open up to receive and match donations. To find out more about how and why we are doing this, click HERE.

Sarah is an artist and songwriter born in Gothenburg, on the west coast of Sweden. After two years at a major label with the pop group Dolly Style, she is finally an independent solo artist with her own debut single ‘Anti Gravity (No One’s Daughter)’. After leaving the group in 2018, she spent the following year creating her own sound. “I would describe it as dark, melancholic pop and I finally get to be a bit emo again after a few years spent with colorful wigs and unicorns. It feels pretty fucking great!“.
There are two more releases coming and by fall we can expect an EP. But before that, she will be hosting our festival and she will present all these amazing independent artists you can read about below.

Dreamy tunes, energetic performance, and a unique vibe. That is Aiko.
Born in Moscow, raised in the Czech Republic and based in London, Aiko’s music is a unique blend of cultures and influences. In her music, she often explores subjects such as solitude, love, and understanding of self. In August 2018 she released her debut EP ‘AIKO’ and it’s soon time for her second release ‘Expiration date’.
Aiko is an experienced performer, some of her highlights include festivals such as Sziget and Waves Vienna. She has also performed live for many sessions, such as BalconyTv Milan, Black Coffee session, Óčko obývák session, or DiscovrTV London.
Bah Black (Basheam Reid) is a 24 years-old independent artist born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. His tenacity for music is what makes him so versatile, he’s producing a fine blend of rock, hip-hop, and R&B resulting in an exciting combination he likes to call “hip-rock”. His latest single ‘ON SIGHT’ is available on all platforms.

Beyond Awareness is a four-man modern metal/rock band consisting of Miika Huhtala (guitar), Jere Tarkkanen (vocals), Joonas Paahtio (drums), Jani Järvinen (bass). The band was formed in the promised land of heavy metal: Finland, Tampere in 2014.
Their captivating sound is a combination of modern riffs, energetic drumming, emotional melodies, and a voice that delivers the highs of the 80s and the growls of modern metal.

In Earnest is fueled by the dual songwriting of couple Sarah and Thomas in their bid to encourage open and honest conversation around mental health.
Hailing from Southend-on-Sea, In Earnest is made a trio by the inclusion of Toby, who enhances the pair’s songs with thoughtful decoration and numerous instruments. Forgoing prominent drums/percussion and favoring intelligent arrangements, the band experiment with how full-sounding their live set up can be.
With influences ranging from alt-rock to folk and black metal, In Earnest propel forward with their own brand of genre-bending indie.
Lua Preta is an Angolan/Polish duo consisting of vocalist/MC Ms. Gia of Angolan descent and experienced Polish DJ and producer Mentalcut. Together they bring the frenetic mixture of modern electronic music and African genres characteristic not only to Ms. Gia’s native Angola but also to the whole continent – including kuduro, afrohouse, gqom, and more.
Their fresh and unique sound led to 2018 being their breakthrough year with their biggest hit up to date being released, ‘Quero Mais’ featuring Lesotho’s Morena Leraba. They also shot their first official video, released on the legendary Man Recordings label, and performed in Germany (incl. legendary Fusion Festival), Denmark, Italy, Finland, France, and more!
Following Lua Preta’s two live performances in New York, their collaborative track ‘Panama’ with the one and only Tony Quattro dropped on Mad Decent’s sublabel Good Enuff in May.
Italian composer and pianist Luca Longobardi represents the generation of classically trained musicians who incorporate the language of contemporary electronic music into their pieces, which are furthermore strongly connected to the multimedia arts.
Born in 1976, Longobardi studied classical music in Italy and New York and went on to earn his doctorate in digital audio restoration in Rome in 2011. His works reveal a strong interaction between classical and contemporary music. The experience he has gained as a theatre musician has increased his interest in the relationship between sounds and spectacle; he has composed music for ballets and films and accompanied installations and experimental art productions (Atelier des Lumières – Paris, Carrières de Lumières – Baux-de-Provence, Kunstkraftwerk – Leipzig).
As one of Sweden’s biggest DJs and hits like ‘Made Of’, ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Hungry hearts’, Nause has built an impressive catalog, with over 300 million streams on Spotify. The Swedish electro-house DJ had his breakthrough in 2011, and since then he has been a credible name with well-deserved nominations for the Swedish Grammy Awards and P3 Guld.
Ever since, Nause has toured the world, played at many of the world’s most renowned clubs, and at the same time, he has continued to produce smashing singles and remixes with massive audience appeal.
‘Dynamite’ (2018) exploded on top of the charts, and now has over 122 million streams only on Spotify. Last year Nause released the single ‘Can’t Erase’ together with Rebecca and Fiona, which went straight into Sweden’s top 200. Earlier this year the single ‘From Now’ was released, in a collaboration with the world’s biggest gaming network ESL.
This is the last streak of hope that romance did not die after the age of twenty, but at the same time, it’s all movies sad ending.
It is lo-fi dreams carefully wrapped in a melancholic veil, where the ugly spoons the beautiful.
It’s a free trip for whoever wants to float away, a safe embrace for those who want to fall back to sleep.
Floating and melancholic, this is Swedish multi-instrumentalist Norbert Lukacs.
Roscoe Parker Band was founded in 2018 by Rickard Beurling and his friend Joakim Paulsson. The two met as teenagers living in Mjölby, “the shittiest city of Sweden”. They have now been accompanied by the pedal steel player Roger Gustafsson and bass player Lars Söderberg. Roscoe Parker Band are releasing their debut album in September 2020.
Sabine Holler is a Brazilian, German descendant, singer, songwriter, music producer, multi-instrumentalist, and performance artist currently based in Brooklyn, NY. With more than a decade of career, Sabine has built a solid reputation in the independent music scene.
Her career started in 2008 when she founded the Brazilian experimental rock band, Jennifer Lo-Fi. She also has been a vital part of Ema Stoned, Mawn, Barrie, and most recently Psymon Spine.
Her sound travels through the genres of alternative, experimental and pop music. With the use of guitar, electronics, and strings, she builds up hypnotic layers of sound, harmoniously setting the perfect environment for her emotional and visceral singing.
Sabine is currently working on her first solo album.
Slade the Supreme is a decorated lyricist out of Kinston, NC currently residing in Winston-Salem. His music is a mash-up between classic soulful hip-hop and Atlanta trap music. Slade, formerly a part of hip-hop duo DOPEMUSIC, seeks to be known as one of the greatest rappers of all time and is making a good case for it so far.
Taija New, a.k.a. the Newbian King, is a rhythmic pop entertainer born and raised in Massachusetts. In 2015 New released her debut EP ‘Color Me Complex’ which included the hit single ‘Newbian King’ that also led to her very own Pandora station, Taija New Radio.
Her performances have been seen from across the US to Canada where she has performed on the same stage as major acts such as Jennifer Hudson, Todrick Hall, K.Michelle, Tiffany Evans, and Kirstin Maldonado from the Pentatonix.
In 2017 New released her highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Heart on the Stage’ that was quickly followed up by her album-titled tour. Fresh off the release of her newest single ‘LGBTooQute’, Taija is currently completing her third album and gearing up for her third tour.
The Orange Circus Band are a Bluegrass/Americana collective based in the UK, with roots in Virginia, USA.
Whilst having a hand in roots, rock and gospel music, and updating traditional songs taken from The Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, The Orange Circus Band produces original music that has a wholly unique, fresh sound. You can expect wild playing, beautiful harmonies, and boundless energy guaranteed to raise the roof and warm the hearts.
While working towards their second album, they’ve released the critically acclaimed single ‘I Miss You’. They’ve been touring in the UK and Europe playing festivals including Cambridge Folk Festival, Black Deer Festival, Glastonbury Festival, and more.
Turnstiles hail from Galway City in Ireland and formed at the beginning of 2019. The line-up is London-born Callum Mitchell on vocals, Colm Sweeney on lead guitar, Cillian Ryan on rhythm guitar, Jake Tiernan on bass, and Luke Mulliez on drums.
In September 2019 they released their first single ‘Moving Forward/Wasting Away’, in November they played their first headline in Galway’s Róisín Dubh.
2020 saw them busy writing and recording fresh material and they released their second single ‘Tantrum’ in February. They should have been showcasing new songs and old favorites at gigs all over Ireland in 2020 and have had festival dates at Forbidden Fruit and K-Fest canceled.
Their uncompromising musical attitude coupled with lyrics detailing the issues of everyday life, and lead singer Callum’s London drawl/shout has drawn comparisons to acts as diverse as Buzzcocks, Mike Skinner, and Blur.
WESTE poses a musical and idiosyncratic journey between Buenos Aires and Montevideo, with a contemporary and global imprint. Exploring the dialogue between different expressions of folklore combined with electronic and acoustic experimentation, their sound seems to elude genre classification altogether.
Clara Trucco (Argentina) from Fémina and Ignacio Pérez (Uruguay) from Mushi Mushi Orquesta joined forces back in 2011. They have released two albums; ‘Vísceras’ (Guts) in 2015 and ‘Huestes’ (a medieval term used for ‘troops’) in 2017, produced by Pedro Canale (AKA Chancha Vía Circuito). The new flavors and soundscapes developed for their new album ‘Abanico’ 2020.
Ranging from eclectic ballads to downtempo hip-hop tunes with jazzy vibes, always threaded by echoes of folklore.
